Following Sam’s plan, Operation Hot Sand is underway and we are enjoying ourselves in Southern California. The plan, or complete lack thereof, is hanging out wherever we feel like in the Los Angeles area and return to Utah on Monday-ish.

scaleddsc01265.JPGThe Scion xB left Provo, Utah on Friday afternoon around 6-ish loaded with five passengers, Dave, Tessa, Sam, Jon, and myself. After people flaked out, including one of scaleddsc01266.JPGthe other drivers, we decided we would actually use a five passenger car to transport five passengers. Weird huh? Anyway, we set off for the roughly ten hour trip with me sitting in the most comfortable of seats, back middle. We were stocked with water, licorice, golden Oreos, and three laptops with music and videos ready for our adventure. The first four hours of the trip were through constant snow. (This being the driving force behind the whole trip… escape the cold.) Just before reaching Saint George, UT the snow finally stopped. In Vegas we stopped for In-N-Out and I claimed shotgun for the rest of the trip, which was less of a triumph and more of an agreement among everyone. Regardless, we continued on into the morning and arrived at Tessa’s parent’s house in Irvine around 3:30 local time. The planned part of our trip was done, since then we’ve been winging it.

jake.jpgAlright, it’s been a while and there are a few things we need to go over:

First of all, Mologogo no longer works so there will be no more GPS tracking in the side bar. I apologize to all of my stalkers, guess you’ll just have to do it the old fashion way. It shouldn’t be too hard, I drive the same way to work everyday and my car’s not exactly inconspicuous.

Second, the decision has been made to continue this site with random unscheduled updates to amuse the reader with stories of my travels (although now sparse) and other oddities that I encounter.

Third, I have purchased the domain paintjunkie.net and will maintain it as a sort of front page for all of my doings. I have my reasons for doing so and I shall not defend them here. (I also bought .info, but who really cares, it was only $0.99.)
Fourth (and last), after a lull in the travel schedule, I will be leaving for Los Angeles this Friday so posts will resume at some point in the near future regarding said trip. (As long as Dave doesn’t crap out after an epic drive back east.)

Simply ignore the mustache.

That is all.
